Who I am...
My name is Aurélien Lemay. I am assistant professor (Maître de Conférence) in the GRAPPA Team (Groupe de Recherche en APPrentissage Automatique / Research Group in Machine Learning). I am also a member of the Project LINKS of INRIA - Lille Nord Europe and LIFL.
I have achieved my PhD in Nov. 2002 under the direction of François Denis and Alain Terlutte in the Grappa team. My thesis work were dealing of the study of a new class of automata (Residual Finite State Automata - RFSA), from both the language theory and the machine learning point of view.
My research activities are now mainly on grammar induction and study of formalisms that deals with semi-structured data (mainly XML). Recent works include studying automatic inference of web wrappers.
I am a member of UFR LEA (Langues Etrangères Appliquées - Applied Foreign Language) of University of Lille. I am teaching mainly in Master ANI (Affaire et négociation international - Business and International Negociation), Master TCI (Technique de Commerce International - International Business Techniques) and Master TSM (Traduction Spécialisée Multilingues - Multilingual Specialized Translation). Among other things, I am teaching database techniques, VBA programmation, Web Site Creation and XML technologies. I am also coordinator of computer science teaching in UFR LEA.
